Why Get Organized?

People who aren’t into being organized and don’t stop to think about it may ask themselves, “Why is it important to be organized?” “What is the big deal?”
Here are some reasons to think about and how getting organized may effect your life in positive ways.
Peace & Harmony. This is a huge benefit to being organized. People that have never been organized don’t seem to know what they are missing. Take one example of packing your suitcase for a business or personal trip and being organized about that process. You will then have the peace to know you will have everything with you that you will need, when you need it. No unnecessary worries. You can use your energy to think about something positive, such as winning the new contract or a new creative idea.
Less Stress in your Life. When one’s needs are thought through thoroughly, you have them in your mind. You can then forget that aspect because there is no longer any problems and you can move onto something else. You can move through this process and eliminate stress in increments of the demands in your life.
Inspired when Planning. As you motivate yourself to think about the project at hand and plan the steps, you will see that you are being “inspired” because you are right in the middle of what needs to be done, usually with a “hands-on” approach. You will think of things, such as what needs to go in your suitcase or in your briefcase, as you actually think it through in your mind and actually do it.
Have more time with your children and/or loved-ones. Time is of the essence in this modern world. Everyone needs to make more of their time, so they have time left for the things that really count in life, such as spending time with your children. When you are organized, it will allow you to skip the minutia and proceed to the things that are significant and meaningful in your life. In other words, we don’t want to find ourselves “in the thick of the thin of things”! Being organized averts this dilemma.
Have more time to help others. It helps everyone to have time to contribute to the happiness of others. When you plan and are organized, it frees up time that you may have wasted and you are left with a block of time you can use to help others or serve in the community. All parties’ benefit from the process.
Have more time to do the things you like to do. Having time for YOU is important also. If you plan ahead and choose to be organized, the process will free up time you can use to do something you enjoy such as reading, biking, sewing, or whatever offers a glimpse into yourself.
Order is important. God didn’t make the trees before he made the earth. He didn’t put animals on the earth before he created the trees and vegetation, so they would sustain life. Order is important no matter your specific religious beliefs. It is my personal belief on matters I have pondered that when Mary and Martha were being taught by the Savior, Martha would not have been rebuked by the Savior for not putting the spiritual things first at that time they were together, if she would have been organized before hand and been ready for their “Guest”! If all her temporal affairs (and we have a lot of them in this world) were in order, she could have stopped and given the Savior her full attention when he arrived.
Being an organized person, in reality allows one to “pull everything together,” because of the consideration and methods that have to be pondered to become organized. Where there is an organized person, there is energy and even a synergy that takes place because a person starts to think about what needs to be done, how to do it, when to do it, how much of it to do, how can they streamline it, and what are the intended results. Most of all, an organized person starts the process. The whole process starts with the first step towards getting the project organized and completed. Today is a great starting point to becoming more organized; therefore, accomplish much more in your life and be happier and more successful in all your endeavors and goals.
