OLD BAY STEAMED SHRIMP!

from the Kitchen of Betty Gustin

Shrimp Image

Following the recipe on the McCormick Old Bay can, it is as follows:

2 T Old Bay Seasoning
1/2C white Vinegar
1/2 C Water
1 lb Shrimp

In saucepan, combine first 3 ingredients. Bring to a boil. Add shrimp, stir gently. Cover. Steam until tender. The recipe calls for 3-5 minutes. For years, I have cooked mine for 20 minutes from boil. Test a shrimp when you feel like they might be how you like them. They will turn a nice pink color. The liquid will barely cover the shrimp, but that is fine! Just that easy! I usually cook 5 lbs of shrimp at a time with using 5X the recipe in a large pan on top of my stove.  So many people are on diets, so remember each shrimp is about 7 calories -- fantastic deal and very tasteful.
Enjoy!
