Elder Weston Brown, of Decatur, Alabama, has been serving in the California Roseville Mission since September 2008 and will be returning home this September 2010. He has served in Roseville, Antelope, Mount Shasta, Yuba City, and is currently serving in Loomis, California.

He absolutely loves being a Missionary and he is grateful for the opportunity to serve the Lord and the people in California. Weston has been humbled by those whom he has taught who have so readily changed their lives to be worthy of baptism. One sister, in particular, always responded with, "If a prophet of God says I should do it, then I will do it!" She had this obedient attitude with every principle of the gospel that was taught to her.

As Weston and his companion prepared to teach her about tithes and offerings they prayed that she would willingly accept this commandment as well. She lives in very humbling circumstances and they were concerned about her reaction to this principle. The Spirit was very strong as they bore testimony to her of the great blessings that come when we pay a full tithing, and she responded, "If a prophet of God says I should pay tithing, then I will pay tithing." She was baptized soon afterwards and continues to remain faithful in the gospel. Weston's testimony has been strengthened as he has witnessed the powerful influence that the Holy Ghost can have on a truly humble person.
